Look out Disney Land, because Nintendo may be gunning for your status as the happiest place on earth!
Nintendo announced a partnership this week with Universal Parks and Resorts, which will allow the two companies to team up and create Nintendo themed attractions inside Universal parks. Despite specific details about the park remaining scare , I think all Nintendo fans can agree that this is a huge step for Nintendo,
What exactly will come out of this big step remains to be seen, but one can only imagine the limitless possibilities that Nintendo and Universal will have at their disposal here, especially with the multitude of iconic Nintendo characters that fans across the world have come to know and love.
Like I said before, the possibilities are truly endless here. We could see Mario Kart racing We could have a Pokémon safari adventure, where kids are able to battle and catch Pokémon of their very own. We could even see reality simulators, where kids can go missions with Samus, Mega Man, or any other number of hero’s from The Nintendo Company.
Not to mention all the other things that could be created as well. There could be tours around Daisy’s castle, movies about Nintendo’s history and how certain characters and games were created, or even exploring the world of Hyrule in a laser tag adventure!
When Universal Studios was asked about what they thought of the new partnership with Nintendo a press release during the announcement had this to say “”Nintendo has created remarkable and imaginative worlds filled with captivating stories and beloved characters. Now, for the first time, those stories and characters will be brought to life in entirely new ways — only at Universal theme parks.”
As for why Nintendo has a sudden interest in the theme park business, that might be linked to the fact that Nintendo has been able to turn a profit for the first time since 2011. This is said to be largely due to software sales, with titles like Pokémon Omega and Super Smash Brothers Brawl being contributing factors to the turnaround as well.
