Movie Review: Furious 7 | Non-Stop Action and Unbelievable Stunts, With a Touch Of Heart

Fast Cars, Furious Action, and Family. These three traits are relevant in the seventh installment to the “Fast and Furious” franchise. With its mind-blowing stunts and nonstop action, the film succeeds by keeping the audience on the edge of their seats. Throughout the film, Furious 7 never seemed to disappoint. Everything you expect in a ‘Fast and Furious’ movie was shown, but this time the stunts and action were raised to a whole new level.

One stunt worth mentioning is when Vin Diesel’s character ‘Dom’ and Paul Walker’s character ‘Brian’ steals a $3.4 million dollar supercar and successful flies it through three Dubai skyscrapers. Dom and Brian jump out of the supercar just in time before the car flies off the building. Is it a little over the top? Yes, but it works. Even though the stunt is borderline comical, the action is so appealing that we forget the reality of it all.

The writer of the film, Chris Morgan, went with the, “I have to Avenge my Brother” plot for the villain ‘Decker Shaw’ played by action star Jason Statham. The film intertwines other plot points supported by Dijmon Hounsou and Kurt Russell’s characters, which gives the film a more appealing edge. Also die-hard “Fast and Furious” fans will be excited to know that there are cameos of characters from previous films, which are involved in the story.

Though the film gives us nonstop action and awesome stunts, the true message is centered on the concept of “Family.” Not talking about blood related, but the family you can choose. This message of the film is strengthened due to the fact of Paul Walker’s passing.

The tragic death of Paul Walker (in real life) gives the film an emotional experience towards the end. Needless to say you better bring some tissues with you because it’s a tear-jerker. The tribute is a perfect way to end the film. Not only do we see how much Paul Walker meant to the franchise, we see how much Paul meant to Vin Diesel and all others who were close to him.

Furious 7 is the best installment to the franchise to date. The two-hour long film has fast and luxurious supercars, beautiful women, extravagant parties, non-stop action, amazing stunts, and most importantly it expresses the concept of “Family.” This film is definitely worth the price of a movie ticket. Furious 7 is a double threat of action and heart, which will leave you wanting more.
